Saberz Project EF Lightsaber (ROTS Stunt Hilt) | New Saber Alert

Saberz Project EF Lightsaber, a custom saber, is a niche design inspired by a simplified stunt hilt wielded by Obi-Wan actor Ewan McGregor during the filming of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Hilt design is essentially a very simplified version of the ROTS Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber hilt. Saberz offers Project EF as a hilt only for display or as a hilt bundled with a Nova carbon stunt blade for dueling just like the Star Wars actors and stunt people! Saberz released the hilt in mid October 2022 along with another stunt hilt called Project RH lightsaber. Note that the hilt is not designed to accept electronics.

Project EF is inspired by various screen-used stunt hilts that actor Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi) wields during the filming of Revenge of the Sith. Thomas van Keoverden, a Lucasfilm saber tech, called the stunt hilt “Ewan’s Favorite Lightsaber”. As such the hilt name “Project EF” is short for “Ewan’s Favorite”. Hilt breaks down into: emitter assembly, body, notched pommel and custom M10 screw. The emitter assembly consists of: bell shaped emitter, thin neck, and a choke point with a tapered center. Project EF features a simple and elegant profile similar to the thin neck Obi-Wan Kenobi ROTS lightsaber…but without greeblies or other hilt protrusions. The Project RH hilt may also be bundled with the optional thin Nova Carbon Blade, a stunt blade.

Note that the hilt only version is intended for display and NOT designed for electronics or for larger diameter blades than the thin Nova Carbon Blade. The balance point of the hilt with Nova Carbon Blade is near the emitter.

As a niche hilt design, Project EF is limited to 100 units worldwide.
