Disney Kylo Ren Legacy Lightsaber (Crossguard Saber) | Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge

Kylo Ren legacy lightsaber is among the first legacy lightsabers released at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. Originally released in 2019, the saber was the only crossguard legacy lightsaber until the release of the Stellan Gios legacy lightsaber in 2023.

Kylo Ren Legacy Lightsaber Hilt Description

The Kylo Ren legacy lightsaber hilt, which is made of metal, features a mostly black finish with silver accents and heat blue patterning in the crossguard area. Unlike some other legacy lightsabers, the Kylo Ren hilt has a weathered finish rather than a pristine one. The iconic red wire (decorative only!) runs down the hilt from an exposed section near the emitter to the pommel area. Hilt measures 11.25 in long and about 2 in wide. The metal crossguard extends 5.75 in across.

Cross Blades and Specialized Black Belt Clip

The hilt comes with two short blades that attach to the crossguard. Blades come packaged in the box in a tray underneath the hilt. Note that the short blades DO NOT work with any of the other legacy lightsabers. The side blades are also a smaller diameter than the main blade. The main blade for the hilt is sold separately.

The hilt also comes with a specialized black plastic belt clip to coordinate with the corresponding metal yellow belt clip (weathered) near the bottom of the hilt. Belt clip only works with the Kylo Ren legacy lightsaber and the Ben Solo legacy lightsaber.

Hinged Cargo Box

Like other standard legacy lightsabers, the Kylo Ren legacy lightsaber comes in a cargo style box. Box measures about 16.5 in long, 7 in wide, and 4 in tall. The gray box features a hinged lid with a black fabric-lined interior. Simply press and hold the circular, sixteen-rayed First Order emblem in order to unlatch and open the box. The logo’s red background matches the color that the blade will illuminate when attached to the Kylo Ren legacy lightsaber.

Activating the Lightsaber

Push the activation switch to activate the light and sound on the saber. The saber will only light up and make sounds when the main blade is attached. Side blades will not light up or activate the sounds without the main blade. Intriguingly, the main blade will light up and make sound even if you don’t attach the two side blades. Go figure. The blades will only illuminate red when attached to this specific hilt. Saber comes equipped with the necessary x3 AAA batteries.
