Judd Lightsaber in Star Wars Legends
The Judd lightsaber features a much longer-than-average lightsaber hilt. The metal hilt features a slanted emitter and gold accents. He wields the lightsaber with a one-handed or two-handed grip and wears the long-handled lightsaber on his back. The lightsaber emits a blue blade.
Judd learns the ways of the Force at the Jedi Temple, eventually ascending to the rank of Jedi Master. Around 20 BBY, in the middle of the Clone Wars, the Jedi Council learns that Darth Maul had survived his lightsaber duel on Naboo with Obi-Wan Kenobi and was now aligned with brother Savage Opress.
Mission to Moorjhone
The Jedi Council tasks Judd, along with Jedi Master Salmara and her Padawan Dray, with investigating why Ja’Boag, the leader of Rim Commercial Mining, put a bounty on Maul. The Council also asks the task force to discover why the local people of Moorjhone had fallen silent since they mining company launched operations there.
Meanwhile, Maul and Opress journey to Moorjhone. The brothers kill many members of security forces from the mining company and throw Ja’Boag over a balcony. Judd and the other Jedi arrive just in time for Salmara to use the Force and saves Ja’Boag from the fall. Maul and Opress leap down from the balcony and attack the security forces. Judd intervenes and duels the brothers.
Salmara uses the Force to throw a barrel at Opress, who cuts it open inadvertently freezing himself in carbonite. Maul grabs Judd’s lightsaber hand with one of his clawed feet, and Judd drops his lightsaber. The Padawan Dray stabs Maul with his green-bladed lightsaber and Maul sliced off both of the Padawan’s hands.
Maul escapes and stirs and uprising from the Moorjhani people against the mining company. Ja’Boag commands the killing of Moorjhani people. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Republic forces arrive call on the combatants to control the situation and stop the fighting. Maul lies to the Moorjhani people that the clone troopers are aligned with mining company. He wants the battle to distract everyone while he recover his frozen-in-carbonite brother inside the complex. After passing by Maul, Judd goes outside into the battle and calls for peace.
Judd’s Final Sacrifice
Judd ultimately dies during the brutal blaze of the Day of Three Suns. The Day of Three Suns, a deadly solar phenomenon, occurs every ten years on Moorjhone and burns all life on the surface of the planet. As the blaze blaze begins going into effect, Judd holds open a blast door with Force, enabling many clone troopers and Moorjhani people alike to take shelter inside. His sacrifice saves countless lives.
