Soon Bayts Lightsaber in Star Wars Legends
During the Yinchorri Uprising, Jedi Knight Soon Bayts oversees communications between the Jedi strike teams on Yinchorri and the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Bayts ascends to the rank of Jedi Master by the time of the Clone Wars.
During the Clone Wars, Mace Windu, Soon Bayts, and several additional Jedi accompany Senator Bail Organa on a mission to the Outer Rim Territories. The group journeys to Boz Pity and meets resistance from the Confederacy. During the battle, Soon Bayts encounters the cyborg General Grievious. Grievous grabs Bayts’ head with one of his clawed feet. The impact knocks the Jedi Master’s lightsaber out of his hand. Grievous then crushes Bayts’ head and adds the Jedi Master’s lightsaber to his collection.
Behind the Scenes
The Soon Bayts lightsaber first appears in the comic book series Star Wars: Jedi Council: Acts of War (2000). The lightsaber is depicted emitting an orange blade. The Soon Bayts lightsaber is depicted emitting a blue blade in the comic book Star Wars: Obsession 4 (2005).
