Saesee Tiin Lightsaber in Star Wars Canon
The Saesee Tiin lightsaber hilt is comprised of a cylindrical hilt with metallic silver coloring and black accents. The single-bladed lightsaber emits a green blade.
A renowned starfighter pilot and lightsaber duelist, Jedi Master Saesee Tiin serves the Jedi Order and is appointed to the Jedi Council during the final years of the Republic. Tiin is part of Mace Windu’s Jedi assault team tasked with rescuing Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Senator Amidala from their capture on Geonosis. The battle becomes known as the First Battle of Geonosis. Surviving the battle, Tiin becomes a Jedi General during the Clone Wars. Saesee Tiin takes part in many Clone Wars battles, including: the Battle of Lola Sayu and the Battle of Umbra.
During the final days of the Republic Jedi Masters Saesee Tiin, Mace Windu, Agen Kolar and Kit Fisto are sent to the Chancellor’s office to arrest Chancellor Palpatine. The arrest attempt follows the revelation that Palpatine is the Sith Lord Darth Sidious.
When confronted by the Jedi Masters, Palpatine resists arrest, quickly extending a hidden red lightsaber, cutting down Agen Kolar and Saesee Tiin. Palpatine subsequently defeats Fisto and, with the help of Anakin Skywalker, defeats Mace Windu as well. The fate of the Saesee Tiin lightsaber is unknown.
Behind the Scenes
The Saesee Tiin lightsaber first appears in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002). A clan saber, the lightsaber hilt is similar in design to the Ki-Adi-Mundi lightsaber and the Aayla Secura lightsaber.
