The Darth Plagueis lightsaber is a single-bladed red lightsaber constructed by the Sith Lord Darth Plagueis. Darth Plagueis is a Rise of the Empire era Sith Lord who takes on Palpatine (Darth Sidious) as his apprentice. Although the Plagueis character is part of Star Wars Canon, illustrations of the Darth Plagueis lightsaber are part of Star Wars Legends.

Darth Plagueis Lightsaber History in Star Wars Legends
The Darth Plagueis lightsaber is a single-bladed Sith lightsaber that emits a red blade. The hilt is cylindrical in shape, comprised of a metal alloy, and equipped with a synthetic red kyber crystal.
Plagueis constructs the lightsaber during his apprenticeship to Darth Tenebrous. Plagueis ultimately kills his master and takes on Palpatine (Darth Sidious) as his apprentice. After years of learning all that he can from his master, Sidious takes on Darth Maul as his own apprentice and unleashes Force lightning on Plageuis, killing his master in his sleep.
Despite Plagueis’ proficiency in lightsaber combat, he finds that “lightsaber duels [are] tedious affairs, full of wasted emotion and needless acrobatics” (Source: novel Darth Plagueis (2012). Plageuis masters obscure and unnatural Force abilities, including the power to save others from death and manipulate midi-clorians in order to create life. Additional Force abilities include: conjuring Force illusions, absorbing blaster bolts, and creating Force lightning, Force Waves, and super sonic Force bellows, among others.

The Darth Plagueis lightsaber first appears in Star Wars Legends in the short story “The Tenebrous Way” (2011). The story is published in the magazine Star Wars Insider 130.
Darth Plagueis Lightsaber in Real Life
No officially licensed Darth Plaguis lightsaber toys or prop replicas exist. Hasbro released a Darth Plagueis action figure in 2013 as part of the Star Wars: The Black Series product line. The 3.74 inch action figure, called Darth Plagueis #18, includes a red lightsaber and staff attachment. The staff attachment may be combined with the lightsaber.
