Who makes Saberforge Youngling Sabers?
Saberforge DOES NOT manufacture any of the Youngling Sabers in-house. The China based custom saber company YDD Saber makes the Saberforge Youngling Sabers. The lightsaber that Saberforge calls Youngling Saber 1 is sold by many other companies who use different names like: The Tiny Giant Kyojin (The Pach Store) or ECO Saber Lite (The Saber Armory by KR Sabers).
Why does Youngling Saber 1 look so different from the other 3 Youngling Sabers?
Youngling Saber 1 is a very basic affordable, ‘no frills’ lightsaber made by YDD Saber. Other companies and sellers offer Youngling Saber 1, although they call the saber a different name.
Youngling Saber 2, Youngling Saber 3 and Youngling Saber 4 use a different hilt or shell for the lightsaber that’s modeled in a similar style to more expensive Saberforge lightsaber designs. The internal electronics on all 4 Youngling Sabers is the same. The external hilt (i.e. ‘shell’) of each individual Youngling Saber is different. The metal hilt designs for Youngling Saber 2, 3, and 4 appear to be exclusive to Saberforge, whereas the hilt design for Youngling Saber 1 is commonly sold by other companies.
How do Youngling Sabers differ from other Saberforge lightsabers?
Saberforge Youngling Sabers are NOT covered by the standard Saberforge warranty, but they do have a “90 day limited warranty against defective components”. Youngling Sabers are cheaper than other lightsabers sold by Saberforge, but they are also lower in quality (i.e. are not as bright, use lower quality electronics/soundboard, use a thinner and less durable 7/8 inch blade, etc.).
Youngling Sabers are ‘starter sabers’ and are not intended for heavy dueling (they may be able to hand some light contact).
Youngling Sabers do pack many features into a sound saber for an affordable price.
