Ultrasabers Arbiter Lightsaber Hilt Full Review

The Ultrasabers Arbiter lightsaber hilt very much has an Original Trilogy style feel to it, especially due to the thin-neck design and the gear-like shape of the pommel, which look similar to the Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker Return of the Jedi lightsabers.

In addition to offering Arbiter, Ultrasabers sells a dark side equivalent hilt called Dark Arbiter. Dark Arbiter features more anodized black sections than the metallic-silver colored Arbiter hilt.

Ultrasabers Arbiter is a VERY long hilt for a single-bladed lightsaber. The hilt is 14 inches long. Most standard lightsaber hilts are around 10 or 12 inches long (shorter, shoto hilts are closer to 8 or 10 inches). If the Arbiter hilt seems too long, the easiest way to shorten it is to remove the grenade-style neck. Arbiter is also 1.45 inches in diameter.

The best feature of Ultrasabers Arbiter is the versatility. Arbiter is comprised of four pieces: thin-neck emitter, grenade-style neck, body, and gear-style pommel. Each hilt section is Modular Hilt System (MHS) compatible, so you can mix and match the pieces with other Ultrasabers MHS compatible pieces. You can also mix and match with MHS V1 pieces from The Custom Saber Shop. The ability to break the hilt down into multiple sections also makes electronics installs on the Arbiter much easier.

Let’s examine each hilt section more closely. The emitter on the hilt is a thin-neck style that includes a blade retention screw and designed to accommodate a 1 inch diameter blade. The emitter neck doesn’t narrow too far, so it’s not an extremely thin-neck. The top of the emitter features a circle of small holes. Below the thin-neck emitter is a grenade-style grip, similar to the Obi-Wan Kenobi Original Trilogy lightsaber. Below the grenade-style grip is the body, which is the longest section of the hilt. The body features the emitter switch hole and a grip area with a series of tapered circular indentations to make the hilt easier to handle. The vented, gear-like pommel caps off the hilt.

Overall, Ultrasabers Arbiter is an attractive, versatile, and long lightsaber hilt containing hints of inspiration from Original Trilogy lightsaber hilts.
