The 24 Inch Initiate Grab Bag Blade is a fantastic bargain if you can combine your blade order with some friends or your saber group and it’s a great way to get a bunch of blades. The main downside to these Initiate Grab Bag Blades is you don’t know EXACTLY what you’re going to get. You DO know that you’re going to get a 24 inch blade, so that’s pretty nice, but you don’t know anything else. You could get: a midgrade blade, an Ultraedge midgrade blade, a heavy grade blade, or an Ultraedge heavy grade blade.Five dollars is already crazy cheap, but if you purchase five of these Initiate Grab Bag Blades, then Ultrasabers will give you an additional Grab Bag Blade free and that happens automatically–you don’t need to request the free blade. The promotion also applies for every five blades that you get, so if you get five blades, then you’ll get the sixth one free. If you order 10 blades, then you’ll receive 12 blades. If you order 15 blades, then you’ll receive 18 blades. [Note: As of 2021, Ultrasabers no longer offers this added deal]
In my own experience, it’s probably most likely that you’ll get some type of midgrade blade (stand or Ultraedge). Also, you get get a rounded tip or a pointed tip (although it seems more likely you’d get a rounded tip). Ultrasabers’ 24 inch Initiate Grab Bag Blades could have some minor defects: there could be some minor scratches, there could be little wrinkles in the foil, there could be some extra dust. Also, some Grab Bag Blades will show the threading at the top of the blade (on other blades you won’t see the threading). Still, overall, the blades are only $5 so it’s hard to go wrong!
Initiate Grab Bag Blades are also a great add-on for Grab Bag Sabers. You can order an Ultrasabers Grab Bag Saber without a blade for $55, and then add a 24 inch Initiate Grab Bag Blade to your order for only $5 ($8 as of 2021).
A Full Size Grab Bag Blade from Ultrasabers is ALSO a great value for $10 ($12 as of 2021). Full size Grab Bag Blades will be: 32, 36 or 40 inches long.
