So what is a the Saberforge Crusader, exactly? The lightsaber could be perceived as: a long-handled lightsaber, a battle axe, a halberd lightsaber, a lightsaber pike, etc. Whatever you call the saber, the Saberforce Crusade lightsaber fits into the Saberforge Exotic Sabers category. The Exotic Saber category is a catch-all category for non-standard lightsabers.

The Saberforge Crusader lightsaber is comprised of a long, CNC precision machined aluminum hilt. The lightsaber was initially released with two hilt length options: 24 inches or 34 inches. There are three main finish options: Standard Finish (two-toned black and silver), Weathered Finish (tarnished silver and black), or Black Finish (all black). Saberforge offers additional custom powder coating colors as well.

The blade socket type is standard and accepts a 1 inch diameter blade. Crusader includes two flat, crusader style polycarbonate axe blades. The saber features two side blades only and no central main blade. The top blade socket accepts a blade plug or blade, but is not wired with electronics and will not light up.

Saberforge has released two versions of Crusader. The first version was released in 2016 and the second version was released in 2017. The 2017 version features the same pommel and emitter sections as the Saberforge Templar Crossguard Saber. The main blade socket on the Crusader is not wired with electronics, however. The 2017 version offers an optional wrap section in the lower grip section. A Covertech wheel attaches to the lower part of the hilt as well.

Saberforge sells the crusader style polycarbonate axe blades separately in the accessories section of their store as well.
