The Hasbro Power Rangers Lightning Collection Morpher line consists of collectible power morphers inspired by the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series. In the Power Rangers series, an individual utilizes a Morpher in order to transform into a powerful helmeted and colorful spandex-clad superhero. Although Morphers through the years range in design, the iconic Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Power Morpher remains a fan-favorite.

How many Lightning Collection Power Morphers are there?
From 2020 to the present, Hasbro has released 3 different Power Morphers: a general Power Morpher for all Rangers, a Pink Ranger themed Power Morpher, and a Yellow Ranger themed Power Morpher. Even though several of the Morphers are use the color scheme of specific characters, all Morphers include all five Power Coins for the original five Power Rangers. You can mix-and-match the central Power Coin in all three Morphers.

What are they made from?
Since each Power Morpher in the Lightning Series is made mostly from plastic, some fans comment that the collectible feels a bit lightweight more like a kids toy than a collectible. The good news is that all of the Power Coins are formed from realistic diecast metal, however. That means the Coins make cool collectibles and display pieces in their own right.
How big is each Power Morpher?
Each Power Morpher is full size and to scale so you can use it for display or striking a cool cosplay pose! Measures about 3.75 in tall (9.5 cm).
How does it work?
The device requires three AAA batteries (not included). You need to remove the back panel and a couple screws to access the battery section. Once you’ve installed batteries, press the side button to turn on the Morpher.
The upper and lower panels expand and reveal a lens with light effects and activation sound effects. Activate dialogue and sound effects by attaching one of the 5 Power Coins to the center of the device. Dialogue varies by model.
Each Morpher includes a black display stand. Use the stand to display the Morpher and Power Coins. Device also includes a belt clip for wearing the Morpher. A foldout black bar on the back of the device enables you to hold onto the Morpher and strike a Morphin pose, just like your favorite Ranger!
Future Morphers in 2023 and Beyond
Hasbro has released one new Lightning Collection Power Morpher each year for the last three consecutive years. If the trend continues, Hasbro will likely continue releasing new Morphers themed around the Blue Ranger, Black Ranger, and Red Ranger. The company could also possibly release a White Ranger Morpher or Green Ranger Morpher.
Custom Mods
Several Etsy sellers offer custom items compatible with the Morphers in the series. Custom Power Coins are particularly widespread. Although most custom coins are 3D printed plastic pieces, StarlightStudioStuff makes an assortment of compatible metal coins including some weathered variants. The company offers a custom chromed-gold colored replacement plate, too. They also sell some cool custom communicator props, too.
MMPRMorpherMania offers an elegant Custom Morphing Grid Lens Sticker and some custom Battle Damaged Morphers inspired by the episode “Once and Always.” As an aside, lightsaber enthusiasts may recognize the operator of this shop as sabersmith Shameem Moshrefzadeh.

The Power Coins unlock different phrases all spoken by the Yellow Ranger. Sometimes her exclaims address her fellow Power Ranger teammates. Note that the dialogue comes from the Rocky, Adam and Aisha era rather than the Jason, Trini and Zack era.
As a final 90s throwback touch, the set includes 4 collectible Yellow Ranger-themed milk caps that you can choose to display on the black stand instead of the other Power Coins.

Unlike later Lightning Collection Power Morphers, the first ever Lightning Collection Mighty Morphin Power Morpher is a master Morpher branded broadly to all Power Rangers on the team rather than exhibiting a color scheme of a specific Ranger. Even the box art depicts all five original Rangers.
Swap out the various Power Coins. Each Coin unlocks dialogue from the respective Ranger. The device uses actual dialogue from the original Power Rangers series, which is a nice touch.
