Rebel Sabers Moonbeam Lightsaber has been released. The custom saber, an original design with a crystal chamber and wispy silver accents, takes some inspiration from Rebels episode “A World Between Worlds”, an episode exploring a mystical dimension of the Force that connecting all of space and time.
Stephanie Prahlow sketched the original design for the Rebel Sabers Saber Sketch Challenge in 2021. Rebel Sabers selected the Moonbeam as a winning design to go into production. The company offers Moonbeam in two configurations: RGBx baselit or Xenopixel. Rebel Sabers released Moonbeam Lightsaber in mid March 2023.

Moonbeam is comprised of a machined aluminum hilt with an obsidian black finish and curvy, ribbon-like silver etchings extending the length of the grip section from the illuminated AV switch to the Covertec wheel. An emitter shroud with a u-shaped cutout on either side reveals the silver blade holder beneath. A caged illuminated crystal chamber is situated just below the emitter. The illuminated AV switch and recharge port occupy the middle of the hilt. A tapered pommel section with sound vents caps off the end of the hilt.
Rebel Sabers offers the Moonbeam saber in two electronics configurations: RGBx Base-lit or Xeno Pixel. Both versions use an all-in-one chassis to secure the electronics and minimize saber rattle. Base-lit version features in-hilt LED color changing on the fly, Eco smooth swing motion responsiveness, and a variety of sound effects and visual effects (e.g. Flash on Clash, blade lockup effect, etc). Xeno pixel version has several additional features including more advanced visual effects (e.g. scrolling ignition/retraction effect, flame and unstable blade effects, blaster bolt deflect effects, etc. Xeno pixel saber also may use gestures to turn on the saber.
Stephanie Prahlow, the individual who sketched the design for Moonbeam, also sketched a concept for sibling saber entitled Solar Flare. It’s unclear if Rebel Sabers intends to produce the sibling saber, however.
Rebel Sabers previously released a different contest-winning design called The Relinquisher, a design that takes inspiration from clone trooper armor. The company released The Relinquisher in October 2022.
