Saberforge Bushido Lightsaber has been released. The custom saber, a katana lightsaber, is an original design with flat sides, a tsuba, and a textured ray skin accents and ito wrap. Saberforge offers multiple tsuba designs, ray skin options, ito wrap selections, and electronics configurations. Saberforge released the Bushido lightsaber in mid November 2022.

Although Saberforge has already released multiple katana style sabers, including the Katana MK4, the company calls the Bushido Lightsaber the “most faithful reproduction of a katana saber” that Saberforge has ever made. Saberforge Bushido is comprised of a CNC machined aluminum hilt extending 10.5 inches long from the pommel to the bottom of the tsuba (handguard). The outside diameter (OD) is 1.2 to 1.5 inches. Blade holder accepts a 1 inch diameter blade. There are three tsuba (handguard) design options: Hex Cog, Round Cog, or Phoenix.
Hilt features a recessed switch and recharge port in the middle of the hilt. The oval profile hilt has two flat sides. Hilt incorporates into the design a genuine ray skin accents (6 color options) beneath the ito wrap. Ito wrap comes in genuine leather (5 color options) or cloth (6 color options). Brass meuki ornamentation in the upper half of the hilt completes the katana look of the hilt.
Saberforge offers the Bushido hilt in multiple configurations: Initiate (empty hilt for display or DIY), Warrior (in-hilt LED, no sound), Veteran and Champion (in-hilt LED sound saber), or Hero Pixel. Hero Pixel is a neopixel saber configuration equipped with a Sabertec Golden Harvest V3 soundboard.
The word “bushido” refers to the moral code of samurai–the way of the warrior. Katana style sabers have become increasingly popular follow the release of the samurai influenced Star Wars Visions (2021) series of animated shorts.
