Disney’s Star Wars-themed Kaiburr Crystal Cocktail carries the truly out of this world price tag of $5000. Plus add another $900 (18%) for the autogratuity. What’s the deal with this mystery beverage and why does the cocktail cost as much as an entire vacation?

Where can you get the Kaiburr Crystal Cocktail?

First we need to create some context. The Kaiburr Crystal Cocktail is only available aboard the cruise ship Disney Wish at the Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge. The Hyperspace Lounge is a Star Wars-themed lounge aboard the Disney-themed ship. The bar provides an immersive Star Wars experience along the lines of the Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge theme park and Galactic Starcruiser hotel. Hyperspace Lounge features a viewport with panoramic space views. An occasional star-streaked jump to hyperspace changes the view to a different corner of the galaxy.

A Walt Disney Imagineering team designed the lounge, taking inspiration from the Canto Bight casino in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Dryden Vos’s First Light yacht in Star Wars: A Solo Story. The Disney Wish, part of the Disney Cruise line, is a new cruise ship that embarked on her maiden voyage on July 14, 2022. The inaugural five-night Bahamian cruise made ports of call at Nassau and Castaway Cay.

Most of the beer, wine, cocktails and mocktails at the Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge are within the standard cruise-ship price range. Alcoholic beverages features exotic names like: Freetown Reserve, Berken’s Flow, The Chancellor, and The Golden One. Mocktails include the Cloud City oat milk blue raspberry concoction and The Temple Twist lime and ginger beer concoction.

What’s a Kaiburr Crystal in Star Wars?

A kaiburr crystal is an ancient Force relic in Star Wars. The kaiburr crystal is a very rare and sought after crystal for use as a lightsaber crystal. The concept of the kaiburr crystal traces its origins back to an early script for Star Wars: A New Hope.

What’s a Kaiburr Crystal Cocktail made from?

The $5000 Kaiburr Crystal Cocktail actually includes several very top-shelf beverages. The beverage includes four “beskar” (i.e. silver-plated) cups. One large silver-plated cup contains the cocktail of ritzy Camus Cognac 4.16 with Yuzu and Kumquat and Grand Marnier Quintessence. Three smaller silver-plated cups contain shots of: Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve 23 Year bourbon, Taylor Fladgate Very Old Tawny Port Kingsman Edition, and Watenshi gin.

Beverages arrive inside a camtono, a cylindrical security container for storing valuables. The container first appears in Star Wars briefly in The Empire Strikes Back and more prominently in The Mandalorian Disney+ series.

After ordering the cocktail, the guest inputs a special code sequence on top of the container and then turns the lid. The hinged panels of the container dramatically open revealing the beverages inside! Disney Imagineers created the detailed and functional camtono for the Hyperspace Lounge.

What’s included with the cocktail?

After enjoying the Kaiburr Crystal Cocktail itself, the guest gets to return home with some additional items including: the four Christofle BeeBee silver-plated cups (mailed directly to your home), a Star Wars backpack, bottle and tumbler set, pillow and blanket, and a bottle of sparkling wine from the Skywalker Vineyards. Unfortunately the cocktail does not include the camtono.

The guest receives a couple additional perks. First, on disembarkation day a Hyperspace Lounge staff member personally escorts you off the ship with no line. The perk, which is similar to a concierge walk off, cuts down on a long wait time disembarking. The biggest perk of the beverage is a voucher for a private tour of Skywalker Ranch and Vineyards for up to four guests.

Located in Marin County, California, Skywalker Ranch is the home of Lucasfilm’s sound design, mixing and audio post-production facility. The vineyards are located within the ranch. Both the ranch and vineyard are not open to the public so the tour could be a Star Wars fan’s dream.
