Hearts of Kyber Kota Lightsaber has been unveiled. The custom saber is inspired by the General Rahm Kota lightsaber. Hilt features a steel exterior and exudes complex weathering throughout the hilt. The company offers the Kota lightsaber as an empty hilt that may be displayed out of the box or installed with electronics. Hearts of Kyber creates the Kota lightsaber in small batches, completing the first batch in late July 2022.

Kota lightsaber is comprised of a steel hilt exterior with inner aluminum core. A heavyweight canvas strip is tied around the knurled thumbscrew and a brown leather wrap extends around the lower part of the hilt. The included blade plug completes the look of the hilt. Hilt features a complex and artistic ‘lived-in universe’ sensibility throughout.
Hearts of Kyber weathers the genuine leather wrap and also applies ‘grime’ pigment to the canvas strip, frays the edges, and adds a invisible fixative in order to prevent additional fraying of the canvas material. The company applies detailed, textured and complex weathering to each steel hilt body as well, creating burnished/rounded and darkened edges and applying a selective chemical and heat torch treatment. Hilt details including the knurled thumbscrew and Covertec wheel feature weathering as well.
