The Darth Sidious Legacy Lightsaber has been released. The lightsaber, which was announced in late May at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2022, is available at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Darth Sidious Legacy Lightsaber is the first ever rechargeable legacy lightsaber in the product line.

The Darth Sidious legacy lightsaber is comprised of a metal hilt with a chromed silver finish with chrome gold accents in the emitter and pommel section. A sliding oval activation switch is situated in the middle of the hilt in the large oval-shaped crater. A copper-colored Covertec wheel attaches to the lower part of the hilt. The wheel pairs with the Galaxy’s Edge belt clip accessory (sold separately), enabling fans to wear the hilt on their belt.

The Darth Sidious legacy lightsaber is the first ever rechargeable legacy lightsaber! A domed section with a green accent near the emitter conceals the hidden recharge port. Hilt includes a USB charging cord. Note that without attaching a Galaxy’s Edge lightsaber blade (sold separately) to the hilt, the Darth Sidious legacy lightsaber hilt may serve as a display piece or cosplay piece only. In other words, the lightsaber does not function or make any sounds without an attached blade.
The hilt comes packaged in an attractive dark, cargo-style case. The dual-function box stores and protects the hilt when closed and attractively displays the hilt when opened. Box features Sith Eternal chevron with a red background. The red background denotes the color of Sidious’ lightsaber blade. The red button on the box controls the latching mechanism. When the box is closed, simply press the red button to unlatch the box to reveal the lightsaber hilt inside.
Disney first revealed the new Darth Sidious legacy lightsaber at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2022 alongside the Qui-Gon Jinn legacy lightsaber and Plo Koon legacy lightsaber. The two Jedi lightsabers are coming soon to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. At the event Disney also unveiled the Obi-Wan Kenobi legacy lightsaber collectible set, which is coming soon the online shopDisney store. The collectible set bundles the hilt with a blade, stand, and belt clip.
