What’s Included?

The Obi-Wan Kenobi legacy lightsaber includes: the Obi-Wan Kenobi legacy lightsaber hilt and the plastic cargo-style box (for storage or display). Note that while the hilt includes the required 3 AAA 1.5V batteries, the hilt will NOT light up or make sounds without a blade attached. Basically, without a blade, it’s a static hilt that may serve as a display piece a cosplay piece. Put the hilt on your bookshelf or wear the hilt on your belt. Your choice.

Dok-Ondar’s Den sells Galaxy’s Edge lightsaber blades separately from the hilt. Dok-Ondar’s Den sells two blade lengths: 26 inches or 36 inches. The blades are compatible with both Savi’s Workshop lightsabers and legacy lightsabers. If you already have a Savi’s Workshop lightsaber from Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, you may use your Savi’s Workshop lightsaber blade with your Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber. The Savi’s Workshop lightsaber blade measures 31 inches long.

Watch out, most custom blades (i.e. fan made/unofficial blades) are NOT compatible with legacy lightsabers, although Etsy seller Jaymoos Playground makes a rare custom Galaxy’s Edge compatible blade.

Hilt Description

Inspired by the Obi-Wan Kenobi TPM/AOTC lightsaber, the Obi-Wan Kenobi legacy lightsaber hilt is mostly metal with a two-toned black and silver color scheme. Features nice details including a gold colored piece and the iconic metallic red thumbscrew. Those accents are just decorative. Dark Gray Legacy Lightsaber Cargo Box

Like other standard legacy lightsabers, the Obi-Wan Kenobi legacy lightsaber comes in a multipurpose dark gray box. You can easily store, transport, or pack and ship the hilt with the lid closed. When you’d like to put the hilt on display, simply pop open the convenient clam-shell lid. An injection-molded tray inside the box forms to the shape of a specific hilt. A thin piece of black fabric covers the tray.

Press down the Jedi Order chevron with a blue backdrop in order to unlatch and open the cargo box. The Jedi Order chevron indicates Obi-Wan Kenobi’s status as a member of the Jedi Order. The blue background aligns with the blue blade color of the Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber. When you attach a Galaxy’s Edge lightsaber blade to the hilt, the blade will light up blue.

The box features a rugged, cargo box style design. Although each legacy lightsaber hilt comes in a similar box, the box size varies slightly from hilt design to hilt design. For example the Darksaber legacy lightsaber comes in a much larger box than the Obi-Wan Kenobi legacy lightsaber.

Finally, turn over the box to find battery replacement instructions and a discreet sticker identifying the item as the ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi Legacy Lightsaber Hilt’.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Legacy Lightsaber with Blade Attached

The lightsaber only lights up and makes sound when the blade is attached. Attach a Galaxy’s Edge lightsaber blade to the hilt. Next, find the subtle oval-shaped activation switch in the middle of the hilt near the top of the grip section. Slide the switch up to activate and down to deactivate.

The blade lights up blue with progressive ignition, a visual effect of the blue blade racing up from the emitter until reaching near the rounded tip of the blade. The blade will ONLY illuminate blue when attached to the Obi-Wan Kenobi hilt and will not light up in other colors with this particular hilt.

Each legacy lightsaber model makes a slightly different collection of sounds (hum, swing, clash sounds etc.) based on the lightsaber of the particular character. The sound difference may be subtle to the untrained ear. Additionally, the activated blade comes in contact with something, the the Flash on Clash effect will briefly cause the blue blade to flicker.
