Ertay dies during a lightsaber duel against the brothers Savage Opress and Darth Maul. The Finn Ertay lightsaber, a clan saber, features a somewhat generic design.

Finn Ertay Lightsaber in Star Wars Canon
During the Clone Wars, Finn Ertay and a Nikto Jedi encounter the brothers Savage Opress and Maul at an Outer Rim spaceport. The two Jedi engage in a lightsaber duel with the two brothers. When Savage Opress knocks down the Nikto Jedi, Finn Ertay runs to her fellow Jedi’s aid. She extends her lightsaber to block Opress from striking down the Nikto Jedi with the red-bladed Savage Opress saberstaff. As she is preoccupied with Opress, Maul approaches her from behind. He ignites his lightsaber and stabs her in the back. She drops to the ground and dies.
Behind the Scenes
The Finn Ertay lightsaber first appears in a flashback in “Revival” (2012), Season 5, Episode 1 of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. The character Finn Ertay appears in a total of three episode of the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
