Jawa’s Junkyard Yungling Lightsaber Unveiled (Real Wood) | New Saber Alert

Jawa’s Junkyard has unveiled Yungling lightsaber. The custom saber is inspired by the design of the Brylark wood Gungi lightsaber. Yungling is made from machined walnut (real wood) and anodized aluminum. Yungling, a limited run hilt, will be available as an empty hilt kit capable of accepting electronics installations. Jawa’s Junkyard plans to start accepting pre-orders for Yungling in mid June 2020.

Yungling accepts a 7/8 inch diameter blade and features a 1 inch diameter internal cavity to accommodate electronics installs. The hilt is comprised of machined walnut (wood) along with an anodized T6 6061 aluminum emitter shroud, pommel, and hilt accents. An optional chassis for Yungling will be available after the completion of the run.

Jawa’s Junkyard previously released a different Gungi inspired lightsaber hilt in 2018. The earlier hilt, called ‘Gungi Custom Saber’, is mostly comprised of 3D printed parts, including a grip section made with wooden filament. As of July 2020, some 3D printed ‘Gungi Custom Saber’ kits are available in Jawa’s Junkyard Etsy Store [affiliate link].
